Petit Bonhomme at toy shop
Petit Bonhomme is at the toy shop “Zwergen-Saloon” (Dwarf Saloon) in Berlin. Still deeply in love with Akinori Oishi’s Petit Bonhomme. Great designers like Akinori and Hara makes me want to learn Japanese so much, so that I can go to their classes at Uni in Japan and listen to them for myself.

SEED - Haiti Emergency Housing
SEED Shipping Containers Could Supply Haiti With Emergency Housing When I was in Secondary 3(Year 9), my school undergo some rebuilding and my classroom changed from a fan-room to an air-conditioned room. It was a blessing! Imagine the heat in Singapore. Hence, from personal experience, containers are simply AWESOME. Better, not only can it quickly relief housing problems for the Haitians,...

Kenya Hara - Designing Design
Bought Designing Design by Kenya Hara today, the Art Director of MUJI brand. “Art is an expression of an individual’s will to society at large, one whose origin is very much of a personal nature […] Design, on the other hand, is basically not self-expression. Instead it originates in society. The essence of design lies in the process of discovering a problem shared by many people and...

How to recognise a good programmer →
Reminded me of my first horrified experience when I first met people whom I would consider good programmers and I realise we talking in programming languages over dinner.. Or other friends who said they eat and live design. All we talked after movie was cinematography, composition, camera angles, FX. Then at other times I was quiet because I fear my passion-talk is going to bored people and make...

CoTweet – How business does Twitter
I was looking for tweety stuff that allows multiple users to tweet to a single account and I found CoTweet. From the looks and sounds of it, its quite exciting to think about its possibilities. I just read in Socialnomics on successful stories of businesses using Twitter, to search for customers’ rants and did proactive customer service to improve satisfaction, as compared to asking...

Japanese Labels
I’ve been collecting labels for a while now and always have a special liking for the japanese ones. Love their simplicity and detailed packaging – attention to the seemingly insignificant label design. Muji = product without a brand. Yet through its simplistic design and packing, highlighting products’ natural colour and shades, its able to grasp such strong identity. Bonus, using recycled...
